International conference “Planning the Future of Ukrainian Studies in Europe” took place at the University of Warsaw (Uniwersytet Warszawski) on May 26-27, 2025, bringing together scholars, institutional representatives, and experts to assess the current landscape and future prospects of Ukrainian Studies across Europe. The event was co-organized by two leading university alliances, 4EU+ and EUniWell – the European University for Well-Being.

Maryna Lytvyn, Board member of the Ukrainian European Studies Association (UESA), and Oksana Krayevska, UESA member, participated in the discussions, contributing to the broader dialogue on advancing Ukrainian Studies as a vital academic and professional field.

The conference focused on identifying the strengths, gaps, and needs within Ukrainian Studies, particularly in light of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the country's trajectory toward European Union integration. Participants highlighted the urgent and growing demand for Ukraine-related expertise across multiple sectors, including diplomacy, humanitarian aid, business, and European institutions. The event underscored the strategic importance of strengthening Ukrainian Studies to better inform policy, support institutional development, and foster deeper European engagement with Ukraine.
