UNICOM WORKSHOP ON REGULATORY APPROACHES TO THE VOLUNTEERING

On 16 June, 2024 an ONLINE WORKSHOP "REGULATORY APPROACHES TO VOLUNTEERING EUROPEAN STANDARDS AND UKRAINIAN PRACTICES" was held. The event was organised by the UESA within the framework of Universities-Communities: strengthening cooperation - Erasmus+ project (UNICOM) and brought together voices from Poland, Ukraine, the USA, Italy, Germany, and Austria. The speakers of the Workshop were:

Marisha Degtyarenko, President of Fundacja Helping Ukrainians, PhD in Law, lawyer, As. Prof. at Uniwersytet Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie (Poland).

Tetiana Lysak, Deputy President of Fundacja Helping Ukrainians, legal counsel, Uniwersytet Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie (Poland).

Zelenko Vasyl, Executive Director of CF “Caritas-Lviv UGCC”; Associate Professor of the Department of Administrative and Financial Management, Lviv Polytechnic National University, PhD in Economics.

Olesia Vashchuk, coordinator of international cooperation at CF PEOPLE, Head of NGO Інноваційний Університет, Doctor of Law.

The discussion was moderated by Maryna Lytvyn, Board Member of NGO UESA, Board Member of NGO Інноваційний Університет, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development of #dniprotech, Coordinator of Universities-Communities: strengthening cooperation - Erasmus+ project.

The opening speech was delivered by Oksana Holovko-Havrysheva, President of NGO UESA, Head of Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence ‘Western Ukrainian Research Centre for European Studies’, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine) and Diana Spulber, Project Coordinator of the UNICOM project (Genoa University, Italy). The workshop focused on the importance of cooperation in charitable activities, comparing approaches to volunteer movements in Ukraine and abroad as well as addressing the transformations in times of war, especially volunteering practices in the Caritas Ukraine network.
