On 23 October, UESA Board Maryna Lytvyn took part in the final conference marking the completion of the EDC Education for Democratic Citizenship in Ukraine project, where she presented the results of the micro-project «European Practices of Implementing the University’s Third Mission» (as part of the UNICOM project).

The EDC Education for Democratic Citizenship in Ukraine project was funded by the Swedish Institute and aimed to develop and deliver a civic education program for key Ukrainian stakeholders, identified based on the Implementation Plan for the Concept for the Development of Civic Education in Ukraine until 2030.

The key objective of the project was to strengthen democratic citizenship in Ukraine by examining mechanisms for safeguarding democratic institutions, broadening citizens’ participation in social processes, and exploring the role of education in shaping democratic values and supporting Ukraine’s European integration.

The project involved European experts from Linnaeus University (Sweden), the University of Murcia (Spain), and Jagiellonian University (Poland), as well as Ukrainian experts from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, the «School of Governance» NGO, the Association of Political Psychologists of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
